Biography:

dubL R, aka Rated R, born Ryan Wayne, began his journey into hip-hop/rap, at the early age of 8. His passion for music ignited after sneaking his cousins walk-man and stumbling upon N.W.A's 100 miles and Runnin'. The melodic tune and chant of "just don't bite it," definetly was'nt something he heard in his grandmother's collection. The young man was fascinated by the bang of the beat and by the way the group expressed themselves! No pun intended. It made young dubL R realize, that he too could express himself in an artistic way with music.

dubL R began to write lyrics, seriously, in 1995 after moving from his hometown, St. Louis, Missouri to a small town, Carlsbad,New Mexico. Living in a town, with nothing to do, but get in trouble, he decided to devote his negative energy and turn it into a positive. He teamed up with two of his new found friends and began to learn the ins and outs of creating and recording music. They formed a group called C.E.W or Central East West, 3 guys with styles representing styles of hip-hop from that origin. After a few recordings...the group disbanded and went their own seperate way, musically. They remain friends to this day!

In the summer of 1997, 15 year old dubL R moved back home to St.Louis, bringing back a style unheard of! Over the next few years, he continued to stay passionate about his music, recording in professional studios and doing live shows wherever they had a mic open. After making a name for himself, the creativity and focus came to a halt after the birth of his son, a day after his 21rst birthday. With new responsiblities arising, he focused most of his energy at the work place and at home with the child. After a bitter split with the mother of his child, 22 year old dubl R, began to drink heavily and almost lost his life in a horrible car crash, in 2005. When he recovered, he realized that drinking would'nt help his problems.... writting would. Writting was his therapist. To him, that was the only "person" that would never judge and only listen. It was his voice that was heard...his thoughts of the world...and all the therapist wanted him to do, was tell it like it was. After the scare of almost losing his life, it made him stronger to know that even if he died, his music would still bleed. The young man's actual words.

In 2005, dubL R teamed up with his talented brother, Tre Beats and began recording their own sound together. After finishing the album, Tre Beats Presents... THE METHOD MIXTAPE , in 2008, dubL R began to collaborate with other composers outside of The United States. He's worked with various producers from France, Canada, Uk, The Netherlands, Brazil and other places most people can barely pronounce. He now owns and operate his own company, RARE MEDIAM MUSIC GROUP, and has since been a liscensed writer and publisher with ASCAP. I see this young talent going places in the near future!
